Roman ‘Tiger’ Mailo

A Football player from high-school to 23, Roman shifted careers after being warned that his next collision could mean death. By age 24, He picked up hockey after some time to recover, leaving from football to hockey and earned himself the name and has the self proclaimed title of King of Hockey. Rumors have it that Roman isn't all what he seems. Being the biggest player and both height and ego, Roman aims to make sure everyone knows their place when it comes to him, beneath him.

Aiden “Killer” Roy

Joining the military at 18, Aiden aimed to follow in his fathers footsteps. However, by the age of 25, he was discharged after the effects of PTSD labeled him incapable of staying. Joining college at 26, where he would meet his lover, he would also pick up hockey, not because he wanted to but because his lover encouraged it. He just stuck around to keep his mind busy.

Left Wingman

Maverick ‘Striker’ Moreno-Alvarez

Hesh’s half brother and a walking time bomb ready to go off at any moment. Maverick joined the hockey team for no major reasons, his reason is because Hesh wouldn’t stop nagging him about his safety because of his current business with back ally fights and cage fighting since he was a young teen. He doesn’t do friends and just uses the game as a way to let off steam.

Right Defenseman

Hesh ‘Bull’ Alvarez

The Loose canon of the team. Hesh is known to fuck shit up on and off the ice. Hesh barely plays by the rules and is practically the king of the Penalty box, it’s a miracle he hasn’t been kicked off the team yet. Hesh came across the team by pure accident, having bumped into Andrew on the rink. Out of boredom, he agreed and practically nagged Maverick to join him.

Right Wingman

Andrew ‘Lucky’ Katz

Born with a silver spoon in his mouth, Andrew has it easy. Once a figure skater until his teenage years, Andrew is the easiest one of the bunch and, in reality, the one with the most skilled skating experience compared to the others. Joining hockey after finishing his ice skating career for his love the ice.

Goalie

Cero ‘Chief’ Balogun

Intense, intimidating and an all around threat, Cero isn’t one you’d wanna make friends with. Discovering Hockey through a youth program, He found the game interesting enough to settle into a career for it. Much to his parents displeasure. Between seasons he had to go home, causing him to be temporally replaced. He’s returned a different man.

Jonathan “Johnny” Manson

Coach of the Team

Jonathan has been the coach of the Black Diamonds for 20 years. Jonathan was once a football player who, just like Roman, has taken one too many hits and was forced to step down out of fear of his life. Johnny is extremely family oriented as he does everything for his Daughter, Rosa and his granddaughter, Joanna. Admittedly out of all the boys of the team, Johnny sees Roman the most as son, perhaps it's from seeing himself in him when he was younger, or maybe it was fatherly instincts.

Cherish Davis-Moore

Owner of the Black Diamonds, Manager of the team and owner of the Barclays Center hockey rink.

Cherish is the daughter of the Founder and was passed on the team name and stadium once her parents retired. Cherish is a serious business woman that takes her team very seriously and only aim for success. Call her a Nepo baby, if you will, as she has everything you could want and need for success. Cherish is a single mother of two boys, who are both currently in their 20s. Her husband cheated on her when they were toddlers and she promptly kicked his ass out.

Roman Mailo

Age: 29

Ethnicity: African-Samoan.

Sexuality: Pansexual

Mini Bio: Roman was raised by his grandmother, Tiana. His father wasn’t present in his life until he was 10 years old but even then, it was on and off until he was killed from a home break up some months later. His mother was always emotionally detached to him and after the death of his father, she disappeared from his life, only occasionally calling to check on him but leaving him to be raised by his grandmother.

Tiana is a woman that doesn’t take nonsense, she whipped Roman into shape to be a better man than his father and even in his 20s, almost touching 30, he dares not to piss her off. Tiana doesn’t play around when it comes to Roman, she knows he makes mistakes but she’d be damned if someone else corrects him.

Aiden Roy

Age: 29

Mini Bio: Aiden joined the military at 18 to be like his father, who was a general for years until he died in action. He was discharged after the effects of PTSD rendered him incapable to function or follow orders properly at age 25. Aiden picked up college then hockey out for wishes of his mother and partner as a distraction to his mind.

Mary Jane is Aiden’s mother and an owner of a bakery called, Raindrop Bakehouse. Mary Jane was once a wild woman who had a career in MMA before retiring when she discovered she was pregnant with Aiden. Mary Jane taught Aiden how to fight and his current personality is a reflection of her own when she was younger. Doesn’t stop her from questioning where he got it from.

Hesh Alvarez

Age: 27

Ethnicity: Colombian

Sexuality: Pansexual

Mini Bio: Hesh is 2 years older than Maverick. Their mother had affair when he was two, resulting in him being split away from his father up until he was 19 years old. As a kid, He would constantly use himself to protect Maverick from his mother's abuse, leading to him building a resistance to pain just to make it easier for himself. At 18, with Maverick being 16, he took Maverick and ran away from home. They were homeless for 1 year before reconnecting with Hesh's father, Alejandro.

Alejandro is the head of the construction crew. He was once apart of a gang that he left once his ex wife was pregnant with Hesh and aimed to have a new start for him. However, once he discovered the affair and was divorced, he was forced to cut contact with Hesh, not even being visitation because of his history.

Olamide Balogun

Age: 28

Ethnicity: Nigerian—Yoruba Tribe.

Sexuality: Straight

Mini Bio: Olamide, also known as ‘Cero’ as his chosen Americanized name, discovered hockey through a youth program back in Nigeria. The concept was new and fresh to him that it became a career path he focused on in his youth program until he was given the opportunity to travel to America to be apart of a starter team. His parents hated this as they wanted him to be a doctor like his mother or a lawyer like his father but he was their son and he held as much stubbornness as them so they allowed him to do with the promise that he will return between seasons. Cero would join the diamonds after Roman and Andrew, becoming one of their defensemen first, then later their goalie when Hesh and Maverick came. For one full season he was absent, having to go home to handle matters regarding his family. He was promised to someone, set up in an arranged marriage he did not want. He returns now on the ice, dreading returning when the season his is over to a woman he does not want.

Victor and Folashade are two sides of the coin that just makes up Cero. Folashade is a doctor and victor is a lawyer, their working status gave them a firm placement where their word is just and nothing comes above it. When Cero stated he was picking up Hockey as a career, they almost disowned him then and there but given he was their only son, they allowed him to pick up this silly career but only until he is married, once he is married, he has to quit hockey and return home for good. That is their true agreement.

Andrew Katz

Age: 27

Ethnicity: German-British

Sexuality: Demi-Sexual

Mini Bio: Andrew’s family is basically new money. He was born into a rich family that placed basically gave him everything in silver and gold. Andrew, however, learned quickly that he was luckier than most and humbled himself quickly in middle school, wanting to go from private school to public school to be ‘normal’. He picked up ice skating in elementary school, where he would meet his long time best friend and ice skating partner. They were given the nickname “Lucky Ducks” as a playful gesture but it ended up sticking with Andrew going as lucky in his hockey career with him nicknaming his best friend as ‘Duckie’. His ice skating career ended after highschool, Duckie and himself turning to separate careers with him picking up Hockey to have some connections to his past on the ice.

Jeremiah and Lidia Katz are both people that started off with a struggling background. They met in Britain after both their parents migrated there. They properly met through an arranged marriage and worked their way up by reviving Jeremiah’s father, Andrew’s Grandfather’s, tailoring business once Jeremiah was in his teens. Since the business took off, they promised to never let Andrew struggle the same way they did. Once Andrew was born, they took off to the US to raise him until he was old over to take the business at 18, however, Andrew chose to stay in America and handle himself. They still in Britain but often flies out to see him.

Maverick Moreno-Alvarez

Age: 25

Ethnicity: Afro-Colombian

Sexuality: Demi-sexual

Mini Bio: Maverick was a result of an affair, his mother cheated on Hesh's father with another man, creating him. For his childhood, he was raised with Hesh by their mother as Hesh's father, Alejandro, lost full custody and was forced to go no contact. Mavericks father wasn't a good man as he was weak and spineless, letting their mother get aware with harm and abuse that turned Maverick towards the darker side of the world. Maverick picked up underground cage fighting at ages 15 to 16, facing several run-ins with cops and near death experiences. He only stopped when Hesh was 18 and took him with him as they ran away from home.

Mavericks mother was a gold digger, always wanting bigger and better and never satisfied with anything, despite the fact she didn't work and had nothing to show for her personality. She was abusive to Maverick and his father, pushing Maverick towards a path of self destruction until Hesh intervene. Maverick hates physical touch because it only reminded him of his mother, how she would hurt him then try to comfort him.
